About the Project

One of Hope Renewed’s most successful endeavors has been in the prison system in Guatemala City.  The program included education, and vocational training through cut and sew, and screen printing businesses in the men’s and women’s prisons respectively.  That program have now branched off into its own for-profit business run by HRI co-founder Ashley WIlliams, and is no longer a part of Hope Renewed International.
With recidivism rates of 95% and 65% for men and women respectively, HRI is currently seeking ways establish similar programs in other prisons outside of the capital.   Our goal is  to help break the cycle of crime in Guatemala by showing prisoners they are able to earn a respectable living through means other than extortion, prostitution, and other common crimes.
